driving to Kalk Bay

We survived our first adventure with right hand / left lane driving! We navigated from the airport to our cottage for the week in Kalk Bay. The road signs told us to be mindful of porcupines, rocks, and baboons, but other drivers seemed to be the main hazard. The cottage is super cute and spacious, and right in the heart of quaint Kalk Bay. We noted a complimentary bottle of wine, which we will certainly enjoy with a bite of dark chocolate tonight. Being a Sunday it is quite busy, but we expect it to be quieter during the week. We’ve topped off our tanks with lunch and coffee, and will explore our immediate environs some more. We don’t have Internet at our place, so our postings may be a little less frequent this week, but we will try to catch you up as soon as possible. Here’s another shot from yesterday, the Bo-Kaap neighborhood.

I always write, “STAY LEFT,” on some duct tape and place it on the dask or steering wheel.

Actually I think the “Baboons On Road” signs are a pejorative reference to human drivers. At least it seems equally appropriate.
